Thanks to extremely low temperatures that blocked Bijelo Polje for more than a month, the Snow Dragon is still in the town square.

A dozen of artists and students of the Faculty of Visual Arts in Bijelo Polje led by Abaz Dizdarevic, worked for about two weeks on the sculpture made out of snow and ice, beginning from the Christmas Eve.
'' What we would call irrational often shows the power of the art. The artists have shown that even in extreme conditions, through art, we can change the mindset. Numerous smiles of citizens, especially children who cannot hide their excitement when they are close to the sculpture are telling this to us on daily basis '', Dizdarevic said.
After the creation of dragon, which was originally designed to defy low temperatures, we came up with the idea of organizing a festival of ice figures which would be held every winter on the Bjelasica Mountain, Bijelo Polje side.
Dragon mostly attracted children and for a short time has become a game room under the open sky.
'' When we see and hear the noise of the children we know that this project led by a group of enthusiasts was a success and we do not regret that it suffered minor damage '', Dizdarevic said.
Ice Dragon has revived the legend of the dragon from the cave of  Đalović, and there are citizens from Bijelo Polje who say that they believe it was actually the announcement of a better life. According to the legend, at the bottom of the Đalović cave lives an ice breathing snow dragon which creates a magnificent stalagmites and stalactites. Once in 100 years it comes in the city center, brings icy days and an important message. Then, namely,, children, and adults can come to it and whisper a wish. It will make everything so that their wishes come true.''
