The Chinese Ambassador to Montenegro, Mr. Cui Zhiweia, paid an official visit on 01 December 2016 to the University Mediterranean. The Ambassador was welcomed on behalf of the Atlas Group and the University Mediterranean by the president of the Group, Mr. Dusko Knezevic and Rector of the University, prof. dr Nenad Vukovic. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Samir Hadzic, the President of the China Montenegro Friendship Association.

The representatives of the delegation pointed out that there has been a very successful collaboration between the University Mediterranean and Dahongying Ningbo University in China and that the process of academic exchange of students and teachers between the two institutions of higher education has already taken place. It was agreed to intensively work in the coming period on the organization of two major regional conferences in the field of business and tourism. It was also planned that a part of the students of the University Mediterranean acquire practical knowledge and skills in Chinese companies that have offices in Montenegro. They also agreed in the meeting to establish a Center for Asian Studies at the University Mediterranean in the next academic year, with the support of the Chinese Embassy and the China Montenegro Friendship Association.
